John Hughes Clarke
John Hughes Clarke has been working in hydrography, marine geology and oceanography for nearly 40 years. He is currently a Professor at the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping at the University of New Hampshire. Prior to that he was part of the Ocean Mapping Group at the University of New Brunswick for 25 years, and at UK, Canadian and Australian universities predating that.
His underlying interest is in marine sediment transport and oceanography and, as it turns out, the survey instrumentation in use with hydrographic agencies are one of the best tools for investigating those interests. He has been particularly lucky to part of collaborative programs between national charting, oceanographic and marine geological agencies (CHS, DFO, GSC and NOAA, USGS).
