Dr. Geneviève Béchard

Dr. Geneviève Béchard was appointed Hydrographer General of Canada and Director General for the Canadian Hydrographic Service in February 2018. Since 2003, she has held progressively more senior executive positions within the Government of Canada in scientific organizations. Dr. Béchard currently holds the Chair of the International Hydrographic Organization Council, as well as the Chairs of both the Arctic and US-Canada Regional Hydrographic Commissions. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology.
